Antonella Sanderson

Antonella Sanderson is the founding solicitor of her own family law practice, with a career dedicated to supporting clients through the complexities of relationship breakdown. Her commitment to family law was deeply personal, inspired by her own experience as a child witnessing parental separation and the impact it had on her family. Motivated by a desire to ensure that no child has to endure similar distress, Antonella has built a legal career centred on compassionate, constructive resolution. Since establishing her practice in 2002, when her own child was just nine months old, Antonella has worked tirelessly to create an environment where families touched by separation can find closure in a restorative and respectful manner. She views her role as more than providing legal services — she sees herself as a conflict healer, committed to nurturing the passion for family law within her professional community while striving for better outcomes for all involved. Antonella is a strong advocate for the Collaborative Divorce process, encouraging clients to resolve disputes outside of court with the help of a trained support team. This approach focuses on cooperative negotiation and aims to meet the needs and concerns of all parties, including children, fostering healing and positive communication. Her professional affiliations reflect a deep engagement with the family law community. She maintains memberships with the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators, Southern Sydney Collaborative Professionals, Collaborative Professionals NSW, the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Law Society of New South Wales—where she served as a director and councillor from 2017 to 2019—the St George & Sutherland Shire Regional Law Society, and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Antonella also contributes to the governance of these bodies through committee roles, demonstrating her leadership within the field.
