Louise Secomb

Louise Secomb is the Principal at Family Centred Law, bringing nearly two decades of legal experience across private practice, in-house roles, and the community legal sector in both Victoria and Queensland. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Crime, Justice and Criminology, and a Graduate Certificate of Dispute Resolution. Louise holds a current practising certificate in Queensland and is registered on the High Court Register of Practitioners. She is an active member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland. Louise’s approach is solution-driven and practical, focused on guiding clients through the complexities of separation with ease and clarity. She believes that clients are best placed to determine what is right for them and works collaboratively to develop sensible outcomes that support their ability to move forward. Her experience spans a broad range of legal areas, but she has a particular commitment to family law and matters involving family and domestic violence. Louise is passionate about supporting and protecting adults and children affected by domestic violence. Her dedication extends beyond her legal practice, having served as a Board Member of the Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) in Toowoomba and Ipswich. She regularly engages in community initiatives aimed at raising awareness and preventing family violence, including participation in the Run Against Violence virtual run. Louise values communication and connection, both with clients and within the wider community. She previously held a senior lawyer position at a not-for-profit community legal centre in Toowoomba and has contributed to legal education at the University of Southern Queensland. Louise lives in Toowoomba with her family and a variety of pets, bringing a personal and compassionate perspective to her work.
