About Daniela

Daniela Sicurella was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1998 and is also admitted to the High Court of Australia. She began her legal career at the Crown Solicitor's Office, where she provided advice and services to various government departments including the Department of Corrective Services, Department of Education, NSW Police Service, and the Roads and Traffic Authority. Following her government work, Daniela practised in private law at Liverpool, handling a diverse range of matters such as public liability, probate, criminal law, family law, and cases involving defective products and buildings. In 2001, she joined Dibbs Abbott Stillman Lawyers, representing licensed insurers like Allianz, CIC, FAI, CGU as well as self-insured clients including State Rail. Her practice centred on complex litigation, particularly involving medical and liability issues, managing cases with multiple defendants and intricate insurance arrangements. Daniela also collaborated with commercial teams advising on insurance policy wordings, directors’ liabilities, and coverage disputes. As an experienced litigator, she notably appeared unrepresented in the Supreme Court before Master Malpass in Akhrass v Allianz & Anor, which resulted in the court’s first decision relating to the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999. In 2010, Daniela established Danlegal Pty Ltd to serve local businesses and community clients, focusing on litigation, family law, leasing, conveyancing, and estate matters including family provision claims. Since January 2018, she has been the managing partner at Egisto Solicitors in Five Dock, where she oversees the provision of commercial legal services covering wills and estate law, property law, commercial law, litigation, and family law. Daniela is committed to ensuring the firm remains responsive to the evolving legal landscape, incorporating legislative changes, market influences, and technological advancements to enhance service delivery. In addition to her legal qualifications, Daniela is a qualified high school teacher and taught adults at TAFE for many years while pursuing her legal career. Of Italian descent, her cultural background deeply influences her approach to client matters. Her personal appreciation of family dynamics enriches her understanding of complex family law issues, while her business acumen aids in navigating commercial considerations in both transactional and contentious matters. Daniela is also appointed as a Notary Public.
