Helen Ede

Helen Ede brings over two decades of experience in family law, combining a strong foundation in both negotiation and litigation. Since beginning her legal career, Helen has developed extensive expertise in managing complex family law matters, including those involving property disputes for high net worth individuals, intricate company and trust structures, and tax and valuation issues. Alongside her proficiency in property law, Helen has significant experience with challenging parenting cases that involve sensitive issues such as parental alienation, sexual abuse, domestic violence, complex mental health concerns, and vulnerable children. Before focusing on family law, Helen worked in commercial law and commercial litigation, which provides her with a valuable perspective and financial acumen that enhances her approach to family law matters. She has also undertaken training and practice in collaborative law and mediation, and has served as an independent children’s lawyer, further broadening her skills in alternative dispute resolution and child-focused legal representation. Helen has been active in the legal community, contributing to the Family Law Issues Committee of the Law Society and maintaining membership with the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. She is also engaged with collaborative practice groups, including Collaborative Professionals of NSW, the Australian Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and Collaborative Professionals Northern Beaches. Outside her legal work, Helen enjoys spending quality time with her family and appreciates the balance of life’s challenges and joys. She also has a passion for skiing and dancing, activities she embraces with enthusiasm.
