About Patrick
Patrick Duffy is a highly experienced lawyer native to the Macarthur Region, having completed his secondary education at Hurlstone before earning Bachelor of Arts and Law degrees with Honours from the University of Sydney. He was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1995. Patrick’s legal career began with roles as an associate and senior associate at well-regarded firms including Marsdens and Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright). He also served as Principal In-House Solicitor at Sutherland Council for three years. In 2000, he established Duffy Law Group in Sydney and later returned to the Macarthur Region in 2003 to continue his practice. With over two decades of legal experience, Patrick’s expertise spans commercial law, criminal law, litigation, family law, intellectual property, equity, insolvency and corporation law. He has a particular focus on property and development matters, having been recognised through specialist accreditation in Property Law by the Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Scheme since 2001. Beyond his practice, Patrick has contributed to the legal profession through service on various Law Society and regional committees. Notably, he played a key role in developing the Government Solicitors Ethics Handbook while serving on the Government Solicitors Committee between 2000 and 2003. Patrick is also committed to providing pro bono assistance and community education. He volunteers with the Macarthur Legal Centre and supports the Campbelltown PCYC’s Traffic Offenders Intervention Program by delivering sessions on the legal system.
