Shona Hoskins

Shona has been a respected member of the South Australian legal community for nearly 20 years. In 2012, she co-founded Douglas Hoskins Legal alongside Jim Douglas, who has since retired. Under Shona’s leadership, the firm has grown steadily and now supports a team of 11 lawyers who collaborate on a broad range of legal matters. Her work encompasses family law, estate administration, estate litigation, wills, and civil and family disputes. Shona has significant experience in litigation and has participated in numerous complex trials and high-profile cases. She is frequently engaged to handle multi-party estate disputes and to represent third parties in family law proceedings that involve competing commercial interests or equitable claims. Shona is known for her practical approach and her ability to identify solutions for clients in challenging situations. This has earned her a reputation as one of the state’s most effective negotiators, with a strong track record of successfully resolving family law and estate mediations. Since 2017, Shona has been acknowledged in the Doyle’s Guide for both family law and estate litigation, maintaining this recognition through 2022. She has also contributed to the profession by presenting academic papers for Legal Wise and serving on the Family Law Committee of the Law Society of South Australia.
