Hadyn Oriti

Hadyn Oriti brings over 35 years of comprehensive experience in commercial and banking law, gained through his tenure with national law firms such as Clayton Utz and Mallesons, as well as senior corporate roles including general counsel, company secretary, and CEO in both Australia and New Zealand. His extensive background gives him a unique insight into complex legal and commercial matters, typically associated with large city firms. Since relocating from Melbourne to the mid north coast in 2008, Hadyn joined Donovan Oates Hannaford and became a partner in 2011. His practical knowledge spans a broad range of areas including property and commercial law, consumer credit and retail banking, commercial and retail leasing, estate planning, estate disputes, and personal property securities. Hadyn has provided advice to numerous national and regional lenders, preparing AML/CTF compliance programs, drafting standard loan agreements for use across Australia and New Zealand, and handling recovery and enforcement litigation on behalf of lenders. He has also been instrumental in corporate governance, white label banking arrangements, joint ventures, and commercial agreement negotiations. Hadyn has shared his expertise through industry and legal conferences and contributed to publications such as "The New Consumer Credit Code Explained." He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland (1987) and is actively involved in the community as a member of Rotary, President of the Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the Edmund Barton Centre for Business Excellence. Additionally, Hadyn serves as a Notary Public. Outside of his legal practice, he is passionate about his family, politics, and cultivating olives.
