About Catherine
Catherine Elphick was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2000 and has over 20 years of experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory advice. She focuses on health advisory law, particularly medical liability, acting for private healthcare providers and a wide range of health professionals including doctors, nurses, midwives and psychologists. Catherine handles matters from suboptimal patient outcomes to complex cases involving deaths under anaesthetic, birth injuries, missed diagnoses, and equipment failures. She also advises clients on clinical governance and compliance with healthcare legislation and regulation. Catherine has extensive trial experience in the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia, as well as appellate work in the Court of Appeal and the High Court of Australia, and has been involved in numerous coronial inquiries.
