Charles Wright has over eight years of experience as a Senior Prosecutor with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in South Australia, where he handled a wide range of serious criminal cases. His prosecutorial work included complex matters such as drug offences, robbery, sexual offences, child exploitation, fraud and dishonesty, serious assaults, dangerous driving causing death, attempted murder, and murder. He possesses extensive courtroom experience across all levels of the South Australian criminal justice system, including appearances in the Youth Court, Magistrates’ Court, District Court, Supreme Court, and the South Australian Court of Criminal Appeal. Charles has acted as junior counsel in jury trials involving serious charges such as attempted rape and attempted murder and has regularly appeared in mental competence hearings as well as Supreme Court bail applications. Charles’s tenure at the DPP provided him with a deep understanding of the workings of the criminal justice process in South Australia.
