David Edwards

David Edwards is a founding partner of DEA Lawyers and brings over 20 years of experience in commercial and property litigation. Since 2001, David has focused on providing legal advice and services within the strata and community title sector, particularly in resolving disputes. Prior to establishing DEA Lawyers in 2009, David worked as a senior associate at a boutique law firm in Sydney’s central business district, where he concentrated on strata and community title law. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney (2002) and was accredited by the Law Society of NSW in commercial litigation in 2008. David is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, the High Court of Australia, and in England and Wales. He spent two years practising in London, working on property, insurance, and construction litigation matters. Within NSW, David has appeared in a wide range of jurisdictions, including Local Courts, District Court, Supreme Court, NSW Court of Appeal, Land & Environment Court, and the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. David regularly shares his expertise through presentations for the Australian College of Strata Lawyers, continuing legal education seminars for lawyers, and training sessions for strata managers across NSW and Victoria. He is a member of the Law Society of NSW and a Fellow of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers. His practice encompasses by-laws drafting and disputes, commercial litigation, contract and construction disputes, debt recovery, insolvency, levy recovery, mediation and arbitration, negligence claims, insurance disputes, and legal matters involving strata and community title. David’s work often involves disputes between lot owners, caretakers, strata managers, developers, builders, and local government authorities.
