Phil Davey leads the firm’s Wills and Estate Practice, bringing over 35 years of legal experience to his work. Initially practising commercial law in Sydney for 16 years, Phil later retrained in family law, broadening his expertise. He now assists clients with Wills and Estate matters as well as Family Law, offering clear and practical advice delivered in a straightforward manner. Phil’s background in commercial law, including banking, finance, insolvency and commercial litigation, enables him to approach complex family law property disputes and estate matters with innovative and well-rounded strategies. He is skilled in planning estates in a way that aims to protect assets and reduce the risk of future claims from spouses or relatives. Known for his precision in drafting, Phil particularly focuses on preparing Binding Financial Agreements, ensuring they are thorough and effective. While he is experienced in litigation and can represent clients in family law and estate disputes, Phil is also a nationally accredited mediator and serves as Deputy Chair of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators. He values early dispute resolution and promotes settlement-focused approaches to avoid the stress and cost of court proceedings.
