Davids Darzins

Davids Darzins is a Solicitor with over 30 years of experience, offering extensive expertise across commercial, property, taxation and trusts law. Throughout his career, he has developed a particular focus on film, television and media financing, securities and production matters, drawing on more than 20 years’ experience in this field. He has practised in both boutique and large commercial law firms in Melbourne’s CBD, where he gained solid foundations in property, commercial and banking & finance law. This background has enabled him to cultivate a comprehensive skill set encompassing commercial and intellectual property law. Davids also served as an in-house Corporate Solicitor at one of Australia’s largest banks, contributing to key projects such as the implementation of Plain English Securities, the Code of Banking Practice and the Consumer Credit Code. This role provided him with practical insight into internal banking operations and decision-making processes. He holds Bachelor degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne. Since 1994, he has held accreditation in property law through the Law Institute of Victoria and currently convenes the Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Property Law Specialists Study Group. Davids is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Law Institute of Victoria, and the Law Society of South Australia. In 2009, Davids established Darzins Legal, where he is the Principal. Beyond his legal practice, he remains committed to community involvement. He served two terms as a Councillor on the Unley City Council in South Australia and held leadership roles with various Latvian community organisations, including as National President of the Latvian Federation of Australia and New Zealand. He also contributed many years as a Board Member and Chairman of the Latvian Educational Advancement Cooperative Society Limited, supporting educational and cultural programs. Currently, he serves as President of the Australian Baltic Chamber of Commerce, which he helped establish. Davids is married to Liga, and together they have three children.
