About Kate
Kate Palmer is Special Counsel at DA Family Lawyers, bringing extensive experience exclusively in family law since her admission in 2015. Early in her career, Kate served as Legal Associate to the Case Management Judge of the Family Court of Australia, gaining valuable insight into court procedures at both trial and appellate levels. This role strengthened her commitment to advocacy and a comprehensive understanding of family law litigation. Kate’s practice encompasses a wide range of family law matters, with a focus on complex parenting disputes involving behavioural challenges, personality disorders, or allegations of abuse. She also handles intricate financial cases that include corporate and trust structures. Her expertise in these areas is underpinned by a thoughtful and empathetic approach, allowing her to provide tailored advice and support whether matters proceed through court hearings or alternative dispute resolution. Recognised by the Queensland Law Society in 2021 as an Accredited Family Law Specialist, Kate is well equipped to guide clients through often difficult and sensitive family law issues. She holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Kate is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia and maintains active memberships with the Queensland Law Society, the Family Law Practitioners Association Queensland, and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
