Patrick Cozens

Patrick Cozens is a Partner at Cozens Johansen Lawyers, bringing extensive legal experience across multiple areas of practice. After graduating with Honours from the University of Adelaide, Patrick began his career in the Crown Solicitor’s Office, where he worked as a government lawyer in South Australia for three years. He then practised in the private sector, initially in Alice Springs for three years, before relocating to Darwin to join a large private law firm. In 2015, Patrick co-founded Cozens Johansen Lawyers alongside Nick Johansen, where he continues to provide legal services. Patrick’s practice encompasses employment law, business and commercial law, property conveyancing, pastoral, agricultural and fisheries law, wills and estates, construction law, and debt recovery. His diverse background in both government and private practice equips him with a comprehensive perspective on the legal needs of individuals and businesses in the Northern Territory. Committed to community engagement, Patrick has held various board positions, including with the Northern Territory State Council of the Australian Human Resources Institute, the Memo Club in Alice Springs, and the Chamber of Commerce NT. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Law Society of South Australia, and is admitted as a legal practitioner since 2008. Patrick is also listed on the High Court of Australia Register of Practitioners and is a certified Human Resources professional with the Australian Human Resources Institute. He maintains active membership with the Law Society of the Northern Territory.
