About Rod
Rod Cornelius is a highly experienced legal professional with over 28 years in the practice of law. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Tasmania, where he was born and raised. In 2005, Rod achieved the distinction of being recognised as an Accredited Family Law Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Courts of both Victoria and Tasmania, as well as the High Court of Australia, enabling him to serve clients across all Federal Courts in the country. Relocating to Melbourne in 2000, Rod has built a robust career working with several prominent firms focusing on Family Law. In 2007, he founded Cornelius Family Law, driven by his vision to deliver personalised, accurate, and expert guidance in various aspects of Family Law. In addition to his practice, Rod has contributed significantly to legal education. For more than a decade, he was a regular guest lecturer at the Leo Cussens Institute, where he imparted his knowledge of Family Law to law graduates and facilitated Continuing Professional Development for legal practitioners and their staff. He is also a published author and speaker, having delivered papers to the legal community on topics such as Domestic Violence in Family Law Property Settlements.
