Adam Cooper has practised family law and advocacy for over 20 years. Beginning his legal career as a barrister, he subsequently held special counsel positions before founding Cooper Family Law in 2011. Prior to entering the legal profession, Adam was a professional footballer and counsellor, experiences that contribute to his empathetic approach in family law matters. Recognised across Australia for his thought leadership, Adam frequently presents at family law conferences, sharing insights on complex property settlement issues, family violence, substance abuse, court advocacy, and other key topics. He authored the Domestic Violence section of the Queensland Law Handbook and is a regular contributor to radio discussions on family law. Adam’s client base extends throughout Australia and internationally. He appears regularly in both state and federal courts and has provided guidance to judges in US matrimonial courts on Australian family law. Holding tertiary qualifications in social science, Adam combines legal expertise with a keen understanding of the challenges faced by family law clients, striving to achieve timely and effective resolutions.
