Gerard Conlan

Gerard Conlan is the founding consultant of Conlan Cummings, bringing over 50 years of experience in delivering effective legal solutions. He holds accreditation in commercial and business law and is recognised for providing expert, honest advice and strong representation in both court and out-of-court settings. Gerard graduated with Honours in Law from the University of Melbourne and was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1971. He began his legal career at a prominent city firm, gaining experience across a range of legal disciplines. In 1979, Gerard established his own practice in Essendon, building a reputation for professional integrity and client-focused service. Notably, in 1990, he became one of the first lawyers accredited in business law by the Law Institute of Victoria. In 2016, Gerard's daughter, Elizabeth Cummings, joined the practice as a partner, continuing the family tradition of dedicated client care. The firm now serves multiple generations of its original clients, as well as new clients from Melbourne and beyond, maintaining a commitment to personalised and attentive legal support.
