Dannielle Young

Dannielle Young is Special Counsel and Head of Family Law at Collective Family Law Group, bringing a wealth of experience gained since her admission in January 2007. With a dedicated focus on family law throughout her career, Dannielle has developed comprehensive expertise across all aspects of this field. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Griffith University, completed in 2006, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Her admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia came early in 2007. Dannielle’s early exposure to family law through work experience during her senior school years and university studies cemented her passion for supporting families. She has practised in boutique firms on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, operated her own practice for five years, and joined Collective Family Law Group in 2019. Her background in psychology enriches her legal practice by informing her understanding of human behaviour and the emotional complexities involved in family breakdowns, particularly regarding the impact on parents and children. Known for a pragmatic and effective approach, Dannielle is skilled in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes without the stress of prolonged litigation. When necessary, she confidently advocates for her clients in contested hearings and trials, demonstrating strong courtroom abilities. Her practice covers a wide range of family law matters including property settlement, parenting orders, de facto and same-sex relationships, divorce, separation, mediation, and domestic violence. Outside of her legal work, Dannielle enjoys caring for her two Shih Tzus and often fosters other puppies. She also embraces an adventurous spirit, spending weekends in her MDC caravan exploring off-grid locations, always with her dogs in tow.
