About Amy
Amy James is a Legal Practice Director, Co-Founder, and Co-Owner with a dedicated career in Family Law. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2010 with a Bachelor of Laws and Business, followed by a Diploma of Legal Practice. Admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia in 2011, Amy has devoted her professional life exclusively to Family Law. Further advancing her expertise, Amy completed a Masters of Applied Law in Family Law through the College of Law in 2020. Her extensive experience covers all facets of Family Law, with a strong commitment to helping clients achieve fair and amicable resolutions during the often challenging post-separation or post-divorce period. She takes a practical, client-focused approach to dispute resolution. Amy’s skills extend beyond negotiation to litigation, confidently representing clients through the Family Court process when necessary. She has appeared at trial on complex parenting and property cases and notably achieved success in a Full Court appeal of the Family Court of Australia in 2012. Understanding the emotional difficulties involved in family breakdowns, Amy is devoted to supporting clients through these transitions with empathy and professionalism. Her dedication to client advocacy reflects the values instilled by her late parents, who inspired her commitment to working hard and serving others. Outside the office, Amy enjoys family life with her husband and their energetic toddler. She is also passionate about animal welfare, having adopted a rescue dog in 2022.
