Susan Deece

Susan Deece is the Principal Solicitor at Clarence Valley Legal, a firm she established in 2012 in Grafton, New South Wales. With over 12 years of experience in private practice, Susan is dedicated to providing clear and accessible legal advice across a comprehensive range of issues. Recognising that legal matters can often be complex and unsettling, she emphasises straightforward communication to ensure clients fully understand their options and can make informed decisions for themselves, their families, and their businesses. Susan’s practice covers a broad spectrum of areas, including family law matters such as relationship breakdowns and divorce for both married and de facto couples, property transactions involving residential and business sales or purchases, criminal law, traffic offences, business establishment and management, wills and estate planning, civil litigation, and debt recovery. In addition, Clarence Valley Legal offers notarial services for document authentication required for international use. Before pursuing a legal career, Susan worked as a registered nurse at Grafton Base Hospital, specialising in the High Dependency Unit. This experience contributes to her empathetic approach and ability to engage closely with clients, understanding their individual circumstances and concerns. Susan completed her Bachelor of Laws at Queensland University of Technology while continuing her nursing role, and commenced practising law in the Clarence Valley region in 2008. In May 2017, Susan attained a Master of Laws with a focus on Family Law, enhancing her expertise in this area. She has since completed the Notarial Practice Course and was appointed as a Notary Public by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in April 2018.
