Shannon McLaughlin

Shannon is a dedicated legal problem solver with over twenty years of comprehensive experience in handling property transactions, commercial leasing, estate planning and administration, alongside a broad spectrum of commercial legal matters. Having been admitted to practice in 2005 following a rigorous five-year articled clerkship, Shannon has honed his expertise across both family and commercial law, steadfastly pursuing optimum outcomes for his clients. A proud native of the Gold Coast, Shannon was born in Southport Hospital and belongs to a family with deep-rooted ties to the region, calling himself a fourth generation Gold Coaster. Shannon embarked on his legal career immediately after completing secondary education, securing a position as an Articled Clerk at a prominent Gold Coast law firm before his admittance as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Shannon's academic credentials are notable; he holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws, with a major in the Commercial Stream from the Queensland University of Technology, complemented by an MBA from Bond University. This extensive and diversified educational background equips him with a profound understanding that he consistently applies for the benefit of his clients, enabling him to deliver comprehensive advice and high-quality service. In addition to his legal practice, Shannon was honoured to be appointed a Notary Public by the Archbishop of Canterbury for the State of Queensland in 2022. He remains an active member of the Society of Notaries of Queensland Inc. His commission as a Notary Public was formalised by decree of the Master of the Faculties, in a ceremony presided over by the Honourable Catherine Holmes AC, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland, on 11 February 2022. Shannon’s legal journey is characterised by dedication to his clients and community, underscoring his role as a trusted advisor and advocate in a range of legal disciplines.
