Peter George is the Managing Partner at CIE Legal, bringing over 20 years of experience as a partner at Minter Ellison and in-house counsel at Ford Australia to his role. His extensive background in commercial law, combined with his stakeholder management skills, ensures effective leadership and a pragmatic approach to client service. Peter’s practice encompasses Australian Consumer Law, with a focus on product recalls and competition law, as well as franchising and retail network structuring. He has a proven track record advising clients on the evolving landscape of automotive regulation, having witnessed the industry’s transition from traditional vehicles to self-driving cars. This breadth of experience enables him to provide clients with insightful and practical advice suited to today’s complex market environment. In addition to his legal work, Peter has developed and managed risk management frameworks and holds a long-standing role on the Victoria University Council, where he has chaired the Compliance Audit and Risk Committee for seven years.
