Melissa Losinski is the Principal and owner of Calverley Johnston Family Lawyers. Raised in Geraldton, she relocated to Perth to pursue university studies and has since lived and worked across both metropolitan and regional areas of Western Australia. Melissa graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2004 and was admitted to practice law in Western Australia in 2006, followed by admission to the High Court of Australia in 2008. Since admission, she has dedicated her career exclusively to Family Law. Known for her straightforward and genuine approach, Melissa provides clients with practical and realistic advice from the outset. Her experience spans all facets of Family Law, offering representation in both negotiated settlements and contested court proceedings. Melissa has particular expertise in financial matters related to family law, including property division, spousal maintenance and child support. She regularly handles complex financial arrangements involving businesses, corporate entities, trusts, self-managed superannuation funds and matters related to inheritances and gifts. In addition, Melissa takes a keen interest in parenting matters and is committed to delivering child-focused advice aimed at minimising the impact of family separation on children. She is frequently appointed by the Court as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in cases that involve sensitive issues such as mental health, addiction and abuse. Melissa is also among the few lawyers in Western Australia trained and experienced in Collaborative Law, providing clients with an alternative approach to resolving family disputes. She values good food and time with friends, believing that maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential to effective legal practice.
