About Greg
Greg Calder brings extensive experience in Business, Commercial, and Tax Law, with a strong focus on estate planning, superannuation, and trusts. He holds qualifications in both law and accounting and was initially admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Greg’s legal career began in London, where he practised in Lincoln’s Inn and the City of London. Following this, he worked in Kenya at a prominent law firm handling international loans and securities, representing various international agencies and multinational corporations. Relocating to Australia in 1983, Greg joined a mid-sized law firm in Perth before becoming a partner at Butcher Paull & Calder in 1986. He played a key role in developing the firm’s Business Law Department, which now constitutes approximately half of the practice. His areas of work encompass business structures including estate planning, trusts, commercial property, company law, taxation, securities, superannuation, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer duty. With over 30 years of experience, Greg is a recognised speaker who has delivered technical presentations on trusts, tax, succession, leasing, business structures, and superannuation at seminars for the Taxation Institute of Australia, the Society of Certified Practising Accountants, the National Society of Accountants, and the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia. Greg is also a Chartered Tax Adviser, underscoring his expertise in both legal and tax matters.
