Alison Elverd

Alison Elverd is a Director at BSP Lawyers, where she has practiced since 2005 and taken on a leadership role since 2015. Alongside her colleague Elizabeth Priddle, Alison guides practice groups focusing on the complex intersection of planning, liquor licensing, and hospitality law. Her extensive experience includes managing applications before the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) and representing hotel and club venues with gaming facilities. Alison regularly handles matters before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), overseeing regulatory and compliance issues that licensed premises face. Recent work highlights Alison’s involvement in landmark gaming and planning decisions, where she has advised clients on the identification and development of appropriate Greenfield sites, guiding projects from initiation through to completion. She has led licensing processes for large precinct developments, including retail centres with multiple licensed venues in food courts and entertainment areas. These projects often require coordination among numerous licensees, managing complex conditions, and engaging with the Liquor and Cannabis Victoria (LCV) to secure practical solutions benefiting developers and tenants alike. In addition, Alison collaborates with the VGCCC and LCV on compliance and enforcement matters.
