About Patrick
Pat McComish is the Principal of the firm and brings a personal connection to personal injury law through his own experiences. Originally from West Belfast, Northern Ireland, Pat moved to Australia in the 1980s. Before entering the legal profession, he undertook a range of manual jobs, including roles as a taxi driver, storeman, and painter at Lord’s Cricket Ground. In 1988, Pat sustained a workplace injury while working as a porter, which gave him first-hand insight into the challenges faced by injured workers seeking compensation. This experience motivated him to pursue legal studies and gain admission as a solicitor. In 2005, Pat became a founding partner of Brown McComish Solicitors. He is particularly recognised for his work representing Irish victims of sexual and institutional abuse across Australia under the Irish Redress Board Scheme. Additionally, from 2009 to 2016, Pat contributed to legal education as a seasonal lecturer and tutor at Deakin University, focusing on criminal procedure.
