Susana Staka

Susana is an esteemed Accredited Specialist in Family Law, having been admitted to practice in 1989. Recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a Recommended Leading NSW Family Lawyer, she has dedicated the past 20 years exclusively to Family Law. Her notable career includes her role as a Director at a Commercial Firm in Western Sydney, where she spearheaded the Family Law practice group before joining Broun Abrahams Burreket in 2013. Susana’s expertise is sought after nationwide and internationally, particularly in complex Family Law issues including jurisdictional matters, enforcement of orders, international child relocation, and valuation of overseas assets. Her participation in global Family Law conferences ensures her clients benefit from her up-to-date knowledge of international legal developments. As a member of LAWASIA, Susana has shared her insights at conferences, most recently presenting in Japan in 2014. With extensive experience in cases involving children, Susana collaborates with reputable child and family psychiatrists and social scientists. She serves on the Legal Aid Commission of NSW Panel of Independent Children’s Lawyers and is frequently called upon to represent clients and children in intricate cases involving serious family violence and abuse allegations. Since 2012, she has represented the NSW Law Society Family Issues Committee on the Magellan Committee of the Family Court of Australia in Sydney, showcasing her deep understanding of children's legal rights and parenting disputes.
