About Stephen
Stephen was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in South Australia in 2003 and gained further admission to practise in the High Court and Federal Court in 2005. His legal career began while undertaking part-time work as a Clerk in the Insurance Division of a prominent commercial law firm in 2002, concurrent with his studies. Upon graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University, he joined the firm full-time as a Solicitor. Since admission, Stephen has focused predominantly on insurance litigation. His experience includes roles at a leading commercial law firm, followed by a tenure at Dnistriansky Kellis Lawyers, and since 2007, with BDK Lawyers. He has participated in several notable South Australian litigation matters, such as the Hindmarsh Island Bridge case and multiple Salmonella-related class actions, including those involving Garibaldi Metwurst and Nippy’s, as well as the Spin Dragon collapse class action. Stephen’s areas of experience encompass recovery claims, compulsory third party insurance, public liability, professional indemnity, debt recovery, property damage claims, contractual disputes, sports law, leasing, construction disputes, and technology law.
