Andrew Dnistriansky

Andrew is a founding director of Botten Dnistriansky Kellis Lawyers and has been practising law since his admission as a Barrister and Solicitor in South Australia in 1997. He is also admitted to practice before the High Court and Federal Court of Australia. Before establishing his current firm in 2007, Andrew spent approximately a decade working within the insurance division of a prominent commercial law firm in Adelaide. Throughout his career, Andrew has focused on insurance litigation, representing a broad range of insurers—including publicly listed companies and government entities—as well as their claims managers. He has been involved in the defence of significant South Australian class actions, such as the Alba Gelati and Garibaldi Metwurst Salmonella cases. Andrew’s experience encompasses a variety of insurance litigation matters, including WorkCover personal injury recovery actions related to serious injuries like quadriplegia, brain damage and severe burns, as well as death and dependency claims. He also defends public and product liability personal injury claims on behalf of insurers, handles subrogated recovery actions across property, motor, commercial, home and contents, and marine insurance claims, and advises on first party claims, often addressing issues of indemnity, intoxication, fraud and policy interpretation. In addition to insurance litigation, Andrew’s practice covers personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice claims, and broader civil and commercial litigation including contractual disputes. He provides risk management advice regarding insurance requirements, indemnity clauses and strategies for risk mitigation. Andrew is also an AFL accredited player agent, bringing expertise in sports law and management, and he regularly assists with debt recovery matters. Andrew’s comprehensive legal experience allows him to provide practical and informed advice across a range of complex legal issues for clients in both the insurance and commercial sectors.
