About Luke
Luke Pedlow is a qualified solicitor with extensive and practical experience across a diverse range of legal areas including criminal law, civil litigation, family law, conveyancing, tenancy law, and wills and estates. He commenced his legal career with the Director of Public Prosecutions, where he appeared in criminal matters and acted as an instructing solicitor to Crown Prosecutors in Dubbo. Luke also served as an Associate to a District Court Judge, gaining valuable insight into judicial and advocacy processes, particularly within criminal law. Expanding his practice, Luke regularly represents clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, dealing with parenting and property matters. He holds a Master of Laws with a major in Family Dispute Resolution Practice and is a nationally accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). Through mediation, he assists clients in resolving disputes in a professional and practical manner, often avoiding the need for litigation. Luke appears in all court jurisdictions including the Supreme Court, District Court, Local Court, and various tribunals. His civil law experience includes successfully managing cases involving debt recovery, property and contractual disputes, and commercial litigation. He is well-versed in complex residential and rural conveyancing transactions and has acted on large-scale property matters involving prominent firms in Sydney and Brisbane. His property law expertise also covers tenancy disputes, applications for possession, and advising clients on their rights under leasing and residential tenancies legislation. In addition, Luke regularly advises clients on probate, estate administration, succession planning, and family provision claims. As a committed member of the Glen Innes community, he is dedicated to delivering clear, strategic, and accessible legal advice to clients throughout the New England region and beyond. Believing that high-quality legal services should be available outside major metropolitan areas, Luke continues the longstanding tradition of Borthwick & Butler—serving the local community since 1867—with a focus on excellence, integrity, and client care.
