Maryanne Ofner

Maryanne is the Managing Director of the firm, bringing decades of comprehensive legal experience to her role. She began her career as a general practitioner, working with both regional and metropolitan solicitors, before joining Biddulph & Salenger in 1986. Throughout her career, Maryanne has demonstrated a strong commitment to client care, combining legal expertise with empathy and understanding. She has extensive experience in family law and has contributed to the community as a part-time legal member of the Guardianship Tribunal, where she worked closely with individuals with disabilities, including elderly clients with dementia. Maryanne is trained in collaborative law and mediation, and she played a key role in establishing the Northern Suburbs Collaborative Practice Group. She has also served as President and committee member of Collaborative Professionals NSW, reflecting her dedication to dispute resolution methods that prioritise negotiation and collaboration over litigation. Maryanne approaches every case with equal dedication, regardless of its size or complexity. She is focused on conserving clients’ resources and seeks to resolve matters efficiently through mediation or negotiation whenever possible. When litigation becomes necessary, she advocates vigorously to achieve fair and just outcomes. In addition to her client work, Maryanne mentors and supports the firm’s lawyers and staff, fostering a professional and positive team environment dedicated to delivering high-quality legal assistance. Residing in the Blue Mountains, Maryanne balances her professional life with a range of interests including reading, family and animals, dragon boating, choir, theatre, and active involvement in community organisations.
