Joshua Anderson

Joshua is a seasoned family lawyer with extensive experience in both parenting and financial matters. Since joining Biddulph & Salenger in 2020, and becoming a Director in July 2023, he has developed a reputation for combining a sensible and pragmatic approach with meticulous attention to detail. His clear and practical advice is supported by carefully crafted strategies tailored to each client’s circumstances. Joshua’s practice covers a broad spectrum of family law issues, from routine to complex cases. He is skilled in alternative dispute resolution and litigation, effectively advocating for his clients whether in mediation or in court. His financial law experience includes handling trusts and companies, tax considerations, third-party interests, self-managed superannuation funds, valuation and loan disputes, inheritances, interim settlements, injunctions, deferred settlements, the drafting and settling of financial agreements, and rectifying defective orders. In parenting matters, Joshua deals with cases involving significant parental conflict, family violence, substance abuse, mental health challenges, and child safety concerns. He prioritises the safety and privacy of parents and children in all matters. His experience extends to sensitive issues such as overseas travel arrangements, school enrolment, contact with grandparents, absent or missing parents, name changes, and matters concerning the diagnosis and treatment of gender dysphoria. Joshua also advises on child support, including drafting and enforcing agreements, and navigating changes to assessments through the Department of Human Services, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and the courts. Alongside family law, Joshua practises in wills and estates, offering services in estate planning, family provision claims, and other estate-related disputes. Originally from Toowoomba in regional Queensland, Joshua now lives in Sydney. Outside of his legal work, he volunteers with the Rural Fire Service and is completing a Master of Laws by research.
