About Tess
Tess Shepherd graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2022 with a Bachelor of Laws. She joined Benjamin & Dawson Lawyers in October 2022 to undertake her Practical Legal Training and Graduate Diploma in Legal Professional Practice. Tess was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in March 2023 and is also registered as a practitioner with the High Court of Australia. From her early legal studies, Tess developed a strong commitment to family law. Her professionalism and dedication are well regarded by both colleagues and clients. She approaches each matter with genuine compassion and understanding, recognising that family law issues can be among the most challenging and emotional experiences for clients. Tess offers comprehensive advice and representation across all areas of family law. Originally from Goulburn, Tess grew up immersed in the equestrian world at her mother’s horse riding school and maintains a passion for riding. Beyond her legal practice, she enjoys competing in sports such as tennis and netball, reflecting her naturally competitive nature.
