Margarett Kummerfeld is a partner at Bell Dixon Butler and Hervey Bay’s only Accredited Family Law Specialist. With a career marked by continuous learning and dedication, Margarett brings a wealth of expertise to family law matters, particularly in complex property settlements, children’s issues, superannuation splitting, and succession planning. Margarett’s legal journey has been shaped by diverse experiences, including her early work in commercial, property, and planning law on the Gold Coast during the 1980s boom, before focusing on commercial litigation and insolvency. Since joining Bell Dixon Butler in 2005 to lead the Family Law department, she has become known for her pragmatic and empathetic approach, assisting clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives. Qualified as a mediator with the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia, Margarett combines her legal knowledge with mediation skills to help clients resolve disputes efficiently and respectfully.
