David Buckley

David Buckley is a partner at Bell Dixon Butler, practicing in property and commercial law. Raised and educated in Hervey Bay, David’s local roots run deep. He attended Torquay Primary School, Hervey Bay High, and Hervey Bay Senior College before moving to Brisbane to complete his Bachelor of Law at the University of Queensland. David began his legal career working in prominent Brisbane CBD firms such as Gadens Lawyers and Nicol Robinson Halletts, where he developed his expertise in property and commercial matters. Seeking a lifestyle change, he decided to return to Hervey Bay, joining Bell Dixon Butler in 2008. Since then, David has built a substantial client base that includes government bodies, major property developers, and business owners. Clients value David for his pragmatic and lateral approach to legal challenges, focusing on practical outcomes that align with their objectives. He has earned a reputation for simplifying complex legal issues, making him a trusted advisor across the Fraser Coast region. Outside of work, David is known for his good sense of humour and interests in reading and AFL, particularly as a supporter of the Brisbane Lions. He is also active within the community, having contributed his time and expertise on various boards and executive committees, including the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Fraser Coast branch, the Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce, and the Fraser Coast Anglican College Governing Council.
