Andrew Mewing is Co-Founder and Principal based in Brisbane, with extensive experience advising clients in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. He provides legal guidance on both transactional and dispute matters related to the engineering, procurement, construction and operation of major projects throughout Australia and internationally. Recognised by his peers for excellence in construction and infrastructure law, Andrew was recently featured in the 11th Edition of the Best Lawyers in Australia, highlighted by the Australian Financial Review. His background includes advising some of Australia's largest construction and engineering companies, both in private practice and in-house. This experience has given him a strong understanding of the commercial and technical factors that influence the delivery of large projects. Known for his technical rigour and commercial pragmatism, Andrew prioritises helping clients manage risk and resolve complex issues effectively. Andrew’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of procurement models and project types, including significant work in the technology, retail and processing industries. He has particular knowledge of legislative frameworks such as the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004, the Subcontractors’ Charges Act 1974, and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991, advising contractors and various stakeholders on related matters. Beyond law, Andrew is an accomplished sportsman who has represented Australia in swimming. The dedication and discipline developed through elite sport inform his proactive approach to assisting clients in achieving their objectives. His recent projects include advising on the contract framework for the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge, providing contract management and strategic advice for the $500 million Carmichael Rail Network, and acting for a plaintiff in Supreme Court proceedings involving lead consultants on the University of Queensland Synthetic Oval & Sports Hub.
