About Brian
Brian Bartley is a Consultant with considerable experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He established Bartley Cohen in 2000 to create a boutique litigation practice that caters flexibly to the diverse needs of clients across multiple industries and professions—a vision that continues to shape the firm’s approach. With over 30 years in the profession, Brian has developed extensive expertise in handling solicitors’ negligence claims and disciplinary matters. He has represented a wide range of local and national clients in various general litigation cases. Additionally, Brian is an accredited mediator with the Queensland Law Society, bringing valuable skills in dispute resolution. Beyond his legal practice, Brian has contributed significantly to the profession and community through numerous leadership and advisory roles. These include chairing the Queensland Law Society Ethics Committee, membership of the Queensland Health Ethics Council, and presidency of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland. He has also served on the boards of the Centre for Law & Medicine at Bond University and the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting. Brian is the Consulting Editor for Uniform Civil Procedure for LexisNexis, further reflecting his commitment to the development of legal procedures.
