Melinda Winning

Melinda Winning, a Partner at Barkus Doolan Winning, has dedicated over 25 years to exclusively practising family law. Admitted as a solicitor in 1998, Melinda became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law in 2003. Her extensive experience encompasses property settlements, spouse maintenance, child support, international child abduction, and complex parenting cases involving third-party creditors and trustees in bankruptcy. Since joining the firm in 2001 and becoming a Partner in 2011, Melinda has presented papers at numerous legal conferences across Australia and participated in several Appeals decided by the Full Court. Her practice involves areas such as parenting, child support, spouse maintenance, and Pre-Nuptial Agreements, illustrating her comprehensive expertise. Melinda's approach is client-focused, aiming to achieve optimal outcomes through negotiation or mediation whenever possible, while skilfully navigating litigation when necessary. As a qualified Independent Arbitrator and a trained Collaborative Lawyer, she actively engages in resolving disputes by identifying key issues and crafting effective strategies tailored to each client's needs. Melinda is a member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Professionals (NSW), further underscoring her commitment to collaborative and constructive resolutions. Her academic foundation was established at Macquarie University, where she earned her BA/LLB.
