Patrick Gardner

Patrick Gardner is a partner at Bannerman Solicitors, bringing a wealth of experience in family law and related areas. He graduated from Edith Cowan University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts, focusing on Criminology and Psychology, before completing his Juris Doctor at Murdoch University in 2012. Patrick began his legal career with Bannerman Solicitors in 2012, and following his articles, he was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2013. Prior to this, he spent seven years as a Court Officer at the Family Court of Western Australia, where he supported magistrates by managing court files, preparing for hearings, and assisting the public. This experience has provided him with detailed insight into court processes and judicial expectations, enhancing his ability to navigate family law proceedings effectively. Since admission, Patrick has represented both privately paying and legally aided clients across a range of family law matters, including divorce, property settlement, and parenting disputes. He supports clients through all stages of their cases, from mediation and initiating court proceedings to trial representation. Patrick also regularly appears in the Children’s Court, handling protection, care, and criminal matters involving young people, and has experience assisting clients with adoption applications. Beyond family law, he represents adults in criminal matters within the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts of Western Australia. He is also experienced in matters involving Violence Restraining Orders, striving to resolve issues through agreement where possible or advocating effectively at trial when required. Patrick is an active member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Western Australia, staying connected with developments in his areas of practice.
