About Brendan
Brendan Swift has nearly 30 years of experience handling corporate disputes, representing a broad range of clients including financial institutions, companies, directors, shareholder groups, creditors, and insolvency practitioners. His expertise includes advising banks and financial institutions on matters such as security enforcement and pursuing claims against parties responsible for corporate losses. Since 2021, Brendan has served as a Disciplinary Panel Member of CPA Australia and was appointed Chair of the panel in 2022. In this capacity, he leads proceedings that review complaints against CPA Australia members in accordance with the organisation’s constitution. Brendan is also actively engaged with the University of Newcastle as a member of its Alumni Advisory Committee and received an Alumni Excellence Award from the University in 2024. Prior to his legal career, Brendan worked as an advisor to NSW State Government Ministers during the Premier Greiner and Fahey administrations and provided consultancy services to industry clients. He is known for embracing technology, with his firm operating entirely through electronic business processes and client communications. Outside of his legal practice, Brendan enjoys following current affairs, watching films, travelling, and spending quality time with his wife, their four children, and two miniature sausage dogs.
