Arul Niles

Arul Niles is the Principal and brings over 25 years of litigation experience across various courts including the Federal Court of Australia, Family Court of Australia, Supreme Court of New South Wales, District Court and Local Court. Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Arul holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Sydney. Since beginning private practice in 1998, Arul has advised on and drafted a broad range of commercial agreements such as building contracts, IT contracts, shareholders agreements, pre-nuptial and financial agreements, as well as franchise agreements. His transactional work complements his extensive litigation background. Before entering private practice, Arul spent eight years as a Senior Solicitor with the Australian Government Solicitor’s Office. During this time, he acted on behalf of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in matters under the Trade Practices Act and managed significant contract disputes involving the Department of Defence and other Commonwealth agencies. Arul has also experience prosecuting criminal matters during his tenure with the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW). His diverse legal career provides clients with comprehensive insight into both contentious and non-contentious matters.
