Samuel Lane is a Partner at Agility Law Group, bringing extensive experience across a diverse range of legal practice areas. He advises a wide spectrum of clients, including insolvency practitioners, commercial landlords, property developers, real estate agents, major banks, insurers, and lenders. Admitted as a solicitor in December 2004, Samuel began his career as a transactional lawyer at Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens). He then joined Clifford Chance in Milan within the Capital Markets team, where he was seconded as in-house counsel to the investment banking division of Credit Suisse. Following this international experience, Samuel pursued a Master’s Degree in International Human Rights Law at the Åbo Akademi Institute for Human Rights in Finland, which led to his involvement in significant human rights litigation in Queensland. Upon returning to Australia, Samuel practised in litigation with national mid-tier firms before being called to the Bar in November 2016. As a barrister, he developed expertise in insolvency litigation, frequently acting for insolvency practitioners and conducting public examinations, including those for liquidators of the Remi Capital Group. He also has experience in administrative law, particularly judicial review applications challenging administrative decisions, mainly representing applicants. Samuel is committed to access to justice and pro bono work. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Management Committee of the Prisoners’ Legal Service, reflecting his ongoing dedication to human rights and legal support for marginalised communities.
