Joe Brown

Joe Brown serves as the Managing Director at Abetz Curtis, having begun his legal career with the firm in 2006. He holds a dual degree in Bachelor of Information Systems and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2006, paving his way to admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Tasmanian Supreme Court. Joe's primary areas of practice include workers compensation, employment law, and commercial litigation. His expertise extends to local government and planning law, where he represents both individual and corporate clients, such as local councils and insurers. His advocacy skills have been demonstrated in various legal forums including the Magistrates Court, Supreme Court, Fair Work Commission, and the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Beyond his legal pursuits, Joe is actively involved with the City of Clarence Basketball Club, participating as a player since 2005 and serving as an officeholder between 2008 and 2013.
